ABOUT MUSEUMS IN FLORENCE
The museum, arranged in the suggestive settings of what was previously the church of San Pancrazio, houses almost two-hundred works donated to the city of Florence by the sculptor Marino Marini (1901-1980). For the city, the monographic collection represents an important gathering of contemporary art and at the same time offers us the opportunity to follow the artistic path of one of the greatest sculptors of the XX century. The thematic order allows us to freely see into the world of the artist, made up of horse men, renditions of the Goddess of Abundance and portraits. The path winds through many levels: the sculptures are spread out on all the floors, while plaster models, portraits and drawings are located in different areas. The variety of the techniques offers additional testimony of Marini’s interests in the expressive possibilities of form.
