Young talented musicians from all over the world

The "Florence International Music Festival" (now in its third year) is a festival designed especially for young talented musicians from all over the world. Objective of the event is to promote young musicians who will have the unique opportunity to perform in some of the most beautiful and historically relevant venues of Florence. This year's edition will present six young musicians who will each perform a concert in Florence. The inaugural concert will be Thursday 12th May, 2005 at 9 pm in the prestigious "Salone del 500" in Palazzo Vecchio, Piazza della Signoria.

Ayano Shimada, young concert pianist of 25 years and winner of important international piano competitions amongst which the Sidney Piano Competition, will be protagonist of this concert. For program look at here.

The festival is organized in collaboration with "Musici Artis", Bruxelles, the Rotterdam conservatory, the School of music of Zaragozza and the "Sommerakademie" of the Mozarteum at Salisbury. The concert venues have been carefully selected to create an ideal atmosphere uniting music with the art and excellence of Florentine architecture. The organization of the festival has been made possible by the support of public entities such as the Region Counsel of Tuscany, the Tourist Counsel of Florence and the Tourist Office of Florence.

The intention of the music school is to continue and foster the organization of classes of higher perfection and master classes on a national and international level. The musicians performing these concerts are all between 14 and 35 years old and represent various countries (Argentina, France, Korea, Serbia, Italy and the United States).
